Fox Hills Music Teachers Association (FHTMA) is a regional group of Chicago area music teachers. Our members are drawn from the Fox Valley and McHenry County area, northwest of Chicago, Illinois. Our current members represent the communities of Barrington, Cary, Crystal Lake, Hebron, Huntley, Lake in the Hills, McHenry, and Woodstock.
We meet together monthly, from September through April. Following a brief business meeting, a program is presented each month to help equip us to become better teachers. Meetings also provide us with time to share ideas, ask questions, and network with other independent teachers. A number of student events are presented each year, giving our students performance opportunities within our community.
Members of FHMTA are also members of Illinois State Music Teachers Association (ISMTA) and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Membership dues are assessed annually by MTNA for all three associations.
