FHMTA Scholarships
Janet Pfluecke Memorial Scholarship
We are pleased to be given the opportunity to honor a longtime friend and fellow teacher in such a special way, made possible by the generous donations of many who knew and loved Janet. We believe and hope this will be a way to keep her spirit alive in a way that was so special and important to her – through the education and growth of young people. The scholarship, in the amount of $250, is to be used by a student for a summer music camp, workshop, or institute. Two scholarships may be given each year.
Please note the following criteria:
1. Applicant must be a student of a member of the Fox Hills Music Teachers Association.
2. Consideration will be based on need, not necessarily talent.
3. The student will provide one personal reference in addition to that of the teacher (see application form).
4. Two winners and an alternate will be chosen by the Scholarship Committee.
5. In the case of a tie, a personal interview will be conducted by the committee to determine the winner.
The winner will need to provide the committee with a copy of the completed application form to the chosen camp, workshop, or institute. Payment of the scholarship money will be made directly to the camp, workshop or institute to be attended.
